Summary
"On Sunday in Tomales, residents and firefighters played “Tomales Resilience,” a board game designed to simulate wildfire evacuation. The game, developed by UC Davis and funded by the National Science Foundation, helps players experience evacuation scenarios and prepare for real-life emergencies. Participants, using game pieces representing their transportation, navigated simulated challenges like blocked roads and additional fires. The game aims to enhance community preparedness by exploring real-life factors affecting evacuation. Feedback from the game has led residents to consider improvements such as better communication and planning. The project hopes to expand to other communities facing wildfire threats."
