Summary

On the first International Day of Play, Ghana highlighted the essential role of play in children's development. Despite the fact that 41% of children are often restricted from playing outside, such limitations hinder their well-being. Play-based learning, like the Differentiated Learning Plus approach observed at Accra College of Education Demonstration School, enhances engagement and information retention. UNICEF, alongside Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Education, celebrated this day with students through various games, emphasizing play's benefits in developing cognitive, physical, and social skills. UNICEF Ghana continues to promote play as a fundamental right and an effective educational tool.
