Summary

There are more things competing for our time and attention - cell phones, tablets, watches, video games, smart home devices, smart lights, smart doorbells and far too many more things to name.

Following a blueprint set forth by the video gaming industry, many industries have begun to integrate the process of "Gamification," or banking on the competitive nature of people to encourage them to continue engaging with the product or service.

The enthusiasm surrounding this type of gamification can fade quickly and often fails to go far enough to turn interested team members into passionate brand champions.

Go Beyond Badges: It takes more than a few badges and achievements to stay engaged and committed to any given platform.

As you are creating a gamification platform, ensure that you are tying in measurable ways to make a noticeable difference in boosting your business goals and bottom line.

In recent years, I have come to fully appreciate the merits of gamification and have been working diligently as CEO of a tech training company to bring that gamification to our students.
