Abstract

"A community of practice (CoP) in education focuses on connecting people who share a common learning need, a set of problems, or an interest in one subject or discipline. There are several advantages to creating a CoP for the individuals involved and the schools in which they exist. Several practitioners and scholars have successfully conducted to use the concept of CoP within the educational contexts for supporting the learners' academic success. However, this model is hard to apply for various types of subjects or learning contexts. Meanwhile, few studies attempt to build a new CoP to design specific training on the social media platform. Therefore, this study plan to rebuild a new model of CoP and use it to implement online gamification training on Facebook for pre-service K-12 teachers. This gamification training could be convenient and effective for them to learn gamification elements and relevant knowledge used in future classes.”
